Reshelled x Hope Town — Everything We Did in The Bahamas

We traveled to Hope Town, Bahamas for the latest Reshelled photoshoot.

Hope Town is quite small, so there are limited activities and I think we hit them all. Lucky for me, my dad had his boat in Hope Town for the month of March, so I jumped on that bandwagon immediately.

We flew into Marsh Harbor and met my dad for lunch at the Harbor View Marina. Pro tip: go to the grocery store on Marsh Harbor as the prices in Hope Town are a bit higher. Your taxi will have no problem stopping there, just tell them ahead of time.

If you need a ride from the airport, send my new friend JC a WhatsApp message to book a car. His number is +1 (242) 458-9291 — you won’t regret it, he’s absolutely hilarious and punctual.

From Marsh Harbor you can take the Ferry. Don’t stress about buying tickets ahead of time, in my experience you can pay as you get on (bring cash).

Once on Elbow Cay, we made our way to Hope Town. My dad keeps the boat at the Sea Spray Marina so we stayed at the halfway point between the marina and town. My dad was appalled at the amount of luggage we required — I think we  collectively had 9+ pieces of luggage.

We loved our little house, it’s by no means the most plush on the island but it was perfect for our crew — I would stay there again! Located in Turtle Hill Resort, we stayed at The Beach House right next to a popular watering hole called On Da Beach.

The bartenders there are awesome, they helped us open a bottle of wine when we lost the opener (classic).

If you’re not going to Hope Town with a boat, I would recommend staying in town. It doesn’t make a huge difference as everything is pretty close, but it makes more sense to be in the center of things. Oh, you also have to have a golf cart, there’s no other way to get around the island. A must!

Where We Ate — Our Favorite Restaurants

With any island, the dining options are limited. However, Hope Town has a few great classics. Here are my favorites.

Abaco Inn

Firefly

Hopetown Inn and Marina

Pete’s Pub (via boat)

The food truck at Sea Spray Marina is actually wonderful and they had music. Cute bar vibe as well, plus you can walk around and look at the boats.

There are other restaurants on the island, but Abaco Inn and Firefly definitely stand out for both food and drinks any time of day or night. You will need a reservation in advance.
